Stunted Quercus chrysolepis (canyon live oak) acorn, cut open showing wasp larva. First image from left to right is of the whole acorn. The second image shows the stunted embryo removed. The third shows the embryo cut up to expose the cynipid larval chamber, and a larva. Synonym: Callirhytis chrysobalani.
