On Quercus wislizenii (interior live oak). Same individual as this and this. Here I've broken open the scale. The red arrow points to a crawler (newly hatched scale with legs). The oval shaped object to the right of the crawler is an egg, and the white bits spilling out of the scale cavity are egg casings. |
