Andricus discularis (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae)
Magalia, Butte County, California
October 27, 2012

Identification was done by comparing these galls with specimens at the California Academy of Sciences, and by reading Lewis Weld's original 1926 description of this gall. Weld's type specimens are from Sequoia National Park. These galls measure about 5mm in diameter. Host is Quercus garryana.
